Brown Widow Spider

The Brown Widow Spider is found all over Florida and is now spreading throughout the United States. They are different shades of brown and they have the tell-tale sign of a widow, the hourglass on the stomach. The hourglass is usually orange or yellow. Another way to recognize a Brown Widow is the stripes on their legs.

The Brown Widow is poisonous but not as much as the Black Widow. One very different characteristic of the Brown Widow is their strange eggs. The eggs have pointed spikes all over them. You can pick out their eggs easily.
